Chapman, Jim
One cannot help but notice the obvious delight that Jim Chapman takes in creating his paintings, a sincere gratification in being given the opportunity to express his vision of color, form, and texture in a visceral conversation with the viewer. In his still life paintings, this opportunity allows him to imbue a history into an inanimate, even mundane, object, one that imposes itself consciously or unconsciously upon the painter as he struggles with the symbolism of iconography of the image.
