Jimmy Lee Sudduth was born March 10th, 1910 in Caines Ridge, Alabama. Sudduth paints with Alabama Mud and House paint and his painting feature mostly local architecture and life in Alabama from the 1930s to the 1990s. Sudduth would outline his paintings using a wet mud rock then he would apply his mud mixture which was composed of mud and sugar water. Sudduth stated that the sweetened mud would stick better and become more permanent.  After the mud dried he would come back in with house paint, grasses or berries to create color. Jimmy Lee Sudduth produced hundreds of paintings during his career.
