Walter is an artist who’s hard to pin down. He is an all around creative professional with a variety of talents and experiences who works in oil, acrylic, pastel and digital applications. His subjects vary from landscape, animal and floral to fantasy and whimsical. He worked for 15 years as an illustrator specializing in pastel and providing editorial, humorous and conceptual works for clients nationwide. He followed this with a career in graphic design that he continues to this day. In 2007, Walter began pursuing fine art and has participated in numerous exhibits. He is a member of the Appalachian Pastel Society and the Southeastern Pastel Society.
In 2009 he was awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant by the NC Arts Council for painting a series on NC Century Farms. This exhibit involved four farms and has traveled to various venues across the state.
He works out of his home in Kannapolis, NC where he lives with his wife Valerie and daughter Merin. Walter loves bluegrass and is an avid banjo player.
